this illumination is one of 10 illuminated squares i did during my thesis back in college. its purpose was to frame the initial letter(s) of each proverb in a book. up to now im not satisfied with the combination of the two because the letting covered the beauty of the frames. of all the frames i did, this one's my favorite.
the motifs used in this frame (and for all the other frames) are purely from basic filipino ethnic motifs i have collected. i redesigned and mixed as much as i could until these creations happened. |
